As our Controller you are responsible for the daily operation of the accounting department. You will monitor the ERP system in conjunction with our Technology group, institutes effective internal controls and provides accurate and timely reporting and analysis. You will supervise, train, coach and mentor accounting staff and provide financial education to employees across the organization; oversee the production and reconciliation of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, collections, and job costing; prepares internal financial reports; assists in preparation of operating and capital budgets; prepare financial support for and oversee external audits/financial reviews by accounting firms, regulatory agencies and others; and collaborates with business partners to meet ad hoc reporting needs. As our Controller you will work with colleagues and staff to ensure that the department’s business processes produce efficient and accurate information that allows employees across the organization to interact effectively with accounting staff, processes/procedures and systems. You will also support due diligence and integration efforts when GeoEngineers undertakes mergers & acquisitions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
A minimum of ten years of experience in a corporate accounting environment; at least five years of supervisory experience required. Public and project accounting experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required. CPA certification strongly preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and corporate tax requirements. AASHTO/FARS knowledge preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong ERP system experience required; experience with Deltek Vision preferred.
Ability to effectively perform financial analysis, communicate key takeaways and address a wide range of issues.
Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Strong business acumen, analysis and problem-solving skills.
Ability to exercise wide latitude in judgment and apply effective decision-making techniques that align with company values, goals and objectives.
