Dark Light Design, an award winning architectural lighting practice, is seeking entry and mid-level lighting designers. We work collaboratively within our studio and alongside our clients to create lighting that enhances the experience of spaces across a broad range of project types and sizes – from treehouses to transportation corridors.
You: have a strong sense of design, think conceptually about light as it relates to materials and space, have a demonstrated interest in/desire to learn about light, communicate well, care about your work, are well-organized and self-directed. You will use your skills to help establish design criteria, create lighting concepts, enhance sustainable design efforts and work with a team of skilled designers from concept stage through construction.
We: provide a competitive salary and benefits, a supportive team environment, hands-on experience, and interesting work in a growing field. Most of our work is in the Pacific Northwest and we are excited to be impacting the area’s explosive growth through the application of light.
Applicants must be authorized to work legally in the United States. Please send a cover letter, resume, and PDF or link to your portfolio to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Because we are a small independent design practice, you will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with clients from the beginning, so verbal, written, and visual communication skills are imperative.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office applications is required, Revit a plus. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Architectural Engineering or Theatrical Lighting is desired.
