The Department of Construction Science and Organizational Leadership at Purdue University Northwest invites applications for Chair, Department of Construction Science and Organizational Leadership in the College of Technology. This 12-month position begins July 1, 2019 and reports directly to the Dean of the College of Technology.
The Department Chair will represent the department effectively at all levels of the university and provide the leadership necessary to achieve the department’s teaching, research, and service missions, and advance Purdue University Northwest’s strategic initiatives. Administrative duties include budget and personnel management, curriculum and program development, recruitment of faculty, faculty development, promotion and tenure, student recruitment and retention; and external development and outreach activities, including fundraising.
A doctoral degree in the field of study relevant to the programs offered through the Construction Science and Organizational Leadership Department is required. Candidates for the position of Department Chair will have a successful track record at the university level of one or more years of experience in teaching and scholarship or academic administration. Record of scholarly accomplishments are required to qualify the individual for appointment in the rank of Professor with tenure.
The Department of Construction Science and Organizational Leadership offers Bachelor of Science degree programs in Construction Engineering and Management Technology, and Organizational Leadership and Supervision. The Department has 8 faculty members with over 200 undergraduate students, and both degree programs are nationally-accredited by ABET.
