George Sexton Associates, LLC, a lighting design firm, is seeking to hire a creative, ambitious individual to add to our collaborative design team in Washington, DC.
Our design work involves a multitude of world-class museums, commercial and residential projects. The salary is commensurate with experience with excellent benefits, and there is opportunity for advancement. Offices are located in Washington DC, New York City and the United Kingdom.
Duties: As we are hired by a multitude of clients, i.e. architects, museums, private individuals, the lighting designer collaborates with project managers, senior lighting designers and other team members to develop a design which combines the creative expertise of all team members. The lighting designer plays an integral role in supporting the design team by:
Helping analyze and select lighting from appropriate sources.
Utilizing software tools to produce architectural drawings.
Creating and working with models, mock-ups and prototypes.
Other duties may include client communication and traveling for meetings and site visits to ensure that the lighting installations are in compliance with the design documents.

Education and Experience Requirements: Lighting Design, Engineering and/or Architecture degree is required and/or one year of lighting design experience. GSA is willing to accept any equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required skills: AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office.
Preferred skills: AGI32 Software and Revit.
