Area of Focus:
A postdoctoral position is available in the Casteel lab at UC Davis, starting after August 2018. The focus of this position is on elucidating the key molecular mechanisms that mediate plant-virus-vector interactions. The Casteel lab uses a combination of molecular biology, genetics, genomics and biochemistry together with laboratory trials to answer ecologically relevant questions.
Applicants for the postdoctoral position should be within 3 years of receiving their PhD. Applicants must be able to do independent research, have good written and verbal communication skills, and must be highly self-motivated. I am particularly interested in candidates that have a strong background in molecular biology/biochemistry, virology, bioinformatics/large data sets, or protein-protein interactions.
