SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates activities of potable water and wastewater civil engineering projects of Crafton Tull by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Acts as a Professional Engineer and Project Manager for water and wastewater civil engineering projects for the company. Examples of project types include: writing technical reports and feasibility studies; design of water distribution systems for potable or nonpotable water; gather and analyze water use data to forecast water demand; design water storage tanks or other water storage facilities; design drinking water treatment systems; perform hydraulic analyses of water supply systems or water distribution networks to model flow characteristics and identify opportunities to mitigate risks and improve operational efficiency; design domestic sanitary sewer collection systems; design wastewater lift stations and force mains; design wastewater treatment systems; design sludge treatment plants; design decentralized or on-site wastewater treatment systems; design domestic or industrial water or wastewater treatment plants, including advanced facilities with sequencing batch reactors, membranes, headworks, surge overflow basins, ultraviolet disinfection systems, aerobic digesters, sludge lagoons, etc.;
Leads teams of engineers, surveyors, designers, and CAD technicians to produce the needed work on company engineering projects, including production of construction plans and technical specifications;
Reviews analyses of project related activities, costs, operations, utilization rates, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated project goals and objectives. Ensures key participants are advised of their performance toward meeting these goals and objectives.;
Confers with Vice President to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.;
Analyzes records and reports to track project progress, billing accuracy, quality control and client satisfaction.;
Ensures overdue and delinquent accounts are collected and assists accounts receivable personnel in recording collection activities.;
Ensures visibility of the company through attendance at public meetings, participation in civic organizations, and participation in public service and charitable activities.;
Meets with current and prospective clients to determine needs, present proposals, assess progress, and provide solutions and contracts for approval.;
Assists in the marketing and business development effort for municipal engineering services for the company.;
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. Reports to the Vice President of the company’s Little Rock Civil Engineering Department. Responsibilities include assisting the Vice President as needed in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university is required, a MA or MS is preferred, with ten to fifteen years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Must be a licensed Professional Engineer licensed to work in Arkansas and Oklahoma and be able to obtain a professional license in other states if required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and publication articles that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematic concepts such as algebraic functions and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Civil Engineering Design software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid driver license and be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
