In conjunction with the President, develop and implement short, mid, and long-term sales strategies and forecasts for the regional sales team to achieve company objectives.
Lead, coach and mentor sales direct reports to ensure their achievement of individual sales targets.
Ensure the management of the sales and opportunity funnels by all outside sales personnel, and ensure that it is sufficient to support forecasted growth. Use these metrics to produce rolling sales forecasts on a monthly basis.
Work with Marketing to devise and implement Marketing strategies that support the growth of the sales and opportunity funnels.
Responsible for the yearly sales department expense budget, including travel, training, meals & entertainment, meetings, etc.
Develop and implement strategies to enter new markets and gain new customers within existing customers and markets, taking market share away from the competition.
Proactively and continuously train and develop direct reports.
Foster employee engagement and retention. Ensure a cohesive, engaged, high energy team operating at high efficiency. Increase employee productivity and job satisfaction.
Work with Business Development Managers on large opportunities and account strategies within each territory.
Ensure that the CRM system is used religiously by all sales personnel, and use data from CRM to analyze sales performance and profitability. Use this data in coaching personnel, setting strategies and developing initiatives.
Develop sales procedures and protocols concerning processes and documentation.
Work closely with the HR Manager to staff positions, review/revise policies and job descriptions, provide expertise on compensation structures and develop employee performance reviews.
Work with the Telesales Manager and team to develop cooperation and processes between and with inside and outside sales.
Transparent regular reporting of all sales related statistics.
Manage select large direct sales account personally, and ensure that they meet growth targets.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management or related discipline; Masters degree preferred.
Technical/professional outside sales and sales management experience required.
Five (5) years of experience managing and retaining high performance sales teams required.
Experience in paint, instrumentation or electronic industries preferred.
Special Position Requirements:
Must be able to periodically lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Up to 60% travel required
Valid driver’s license required
Valid passport (or ability to obtain)
Telecommuting is allowed.
Additional Salary Information: Close proximity to Baltimore/Washington area desired, but not required. Home office location.
