Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has one or more positions available for a plumbing project engineer. Responsibilities include designing plumbing distribution systems; storm, sanitary, domestic water, compressed air systems associated with buildings; preparing plans and specifications for bidding and construction; preparing and performing quality checks of documents; mentoring less experienced staff and conducting periodic construction site inspections. Travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have all of the following:
a bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering (with a mechanical and/or plumbing emphasis)
at least five years of relevant plumbing design experience
a PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in other states
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: designing plumbing systems for buildings including storm, sanitary, domestic water; designing compressed air systems; developing performance criteria for fire protection systems; designing natural gas piping systems; designing plumbing and/or fire protection systems for military, commercial, aviation, food & beverage, healthcare and/or correctional facilities; mentoring less experienced staff; knowledge of codes, statutes, and laws related to building plumbing design and construction. The ideal candidate will also be a Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD).
