The position of Chief Engineer will be expected to provide expertise in the principal areas of Power Systems Analysis, Protective Device Coordination, Protective Relaying, Power Systems Design, Field Engineering, Systems Commissioning, and Project Management. In addition, this position will be responsible for the direction and supervision of the engineering group. This position reports directly to the division General Manager.

Provide technical direction to engineers, designers, and field personnel.
Provide direct supervision, project assignments, and quality control for engineering group.
Determine group staffing needs to support work load, project schedules, and budgets.
Work directly with marketing and sales personnel to grow engineering backlog.
Prepare project proposals/quotes for delivery to clients.
Accountable for maintaining and reporting progress and status of revenue and EBITA budgets.
Prioritize and formulate schedules to execute projects within given time and budget constraints.
Interact and communicate effectively with engineering group, clients, peers, and management, for effective problem resolution and transfer of pertinent information.
Perform power systems analysis including; short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash hazard risk analysis, and power quality monitoring and analysis.
Provide design for industrial power distribution systems, including protective relaying.
Develop protective relay settings and implement microprocessor based relay programming.
Provide facility electrical system surveys, equipment documentation, and identify deficiencies.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited college or university.
8+ years of related electrical engineering experience including: performing short circuit analysis, protective device coordination studies, power quality analysis, and Arc Flash Hazard Risk Assessments.
PE license required, plus ability to become licensed in multiple states.
Thorough understanding of electrical power systems and a good aptitude for problem evaluation and developing solutions.
Strong computer skills, including; Word, XCEL, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
Proficiency using SKM engineering analysis software.
Knowledge and experience with microprocessor based protective relaying.
An understanding and application of industry codes and standards; NEC, NFPA, OSHA, IEEE, NESC, etc.
Must be available for 15-20% out of town travel.
