Mid – level position: •Plan, design, and assist management of architectural lighting design projects for the interiors and exteriors of residential and commercial spaces. •Confer directly with clients to determine their style preferences, required functions, and budgets. Research products and pricing. •Coordinate with design and construction team members/ consultants. •Correspond directly with manufacturers and their local reps for product information, pricing, and samples. •Analyze and review potential design solutions - including lighting fixtures and lighting controls - to ensure technical accuracy and reliability of designs. •Work with design team to formulate design solution which is practical, aesthetically appropriate, economically feasible, and code/ budget compliant which enhances architectural elements and decorative materials and finishes. •Create and revise lighting layouts (CAD/ Revit), details, calculations (AGI) and specifications of fixtures. Use Excel worksheets to analyze wattage/ energy usage. •Confirm details full scale working mock-ups •Assist in preparing and delivering client presentations with Photoshop, InDesign •Assist in management of daily operation of specific projects. •Perform preliminary site survey or focusing and fine-tuning of the installation on site, domestic and international travel may be required •Instruct the client on the maintenance and use of their new lighting systems.
Skills - Fluent with AutoCAD, AGi, Excel, MS Word, Photoshop; visual talent and eye for lighting applications; hand drawing/sketching; fluent in English, oral & written. Desired – Revit, InDesign and other computer-based graphic skills. Masters in Lighting Design + min. 1 year experience.
