At our United States headquarters in Adrian, MI we are seeking a Manager, Production Chemistry.
The purpose of the Manager of Production Chemistry is to lead the Process Chemist efforts to improve the production processes so that we can safely and reliably produce quality products with efficient processes. This position is the primary technical liaison between the Business Teams and the Supply Chain. Success in this position will result in enhancement of the overall organization to support higher growth rates of the business while improving our quality, efficiencies, cost position and productivity.
This is a working position that also manages the respective groups PCE's, Lab Technicians, and Pilot Plant facilities. This would include development of required training matrixes and coordination with global Process Chemists and Product / Platform managers to ensure proper transfer of knowledge (and that proper knowledge is transferred).
Your Tasks • Leadership and administrative management of the department Process Chemists and Technicians. • Reaction Chemist responsible for ensuring the safety of processes / formulations. • Oversight of the new material approval process to ensure proper information transfer and successful new product introduction. • Oversight of Root Cause and Corrective action system for all quality deviations leading to optimization of material formulations / processes. • Continuous improvement of the processes regarding optimize cycle time, yields, variation reduction, and complexity management through raw material monitoring. • Process Chemist duties for assigned materials. • Participation with Operations / Engineering to support production needs. • Globalization of products and processes, specifically lead the process as the site COR for transfer materials. This should include periodic visits to Germany and supporting visits from Germany et al to review processes/Bill of Materials/Specifications to ensure harmonization.
Your Profile Education and Experience • Bachelor's Degree in related field; Master's Degree preferred • 5 - 7 years experience in batch or continuous processing • Experience supervising technical personnel
