We are looking for an Instrumentation Engineer to support projects in the Northeast Region. This position will be based initially out of our New York City office or Woodbury, NY (Long Island) office, with near-future plans to migrate to a Connecticut based location. You will provide technical support to Client and Project Managers in the Northeast Region.
You will regularly interface with clients and multidisciplinary project team members
You will serve as a project engineer for automation projects ranging from minor control system upgrades and modifications to new system installations
You will support and assist in the evaluation, design, documentation, implementation, testing and commissioning of PLC, HMI, DCS, hardwired control solutions, and other instrumentation and control system applications
You will prepare design drawings and specifications
Ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs
Ability to travel regionally at least 50%
A four-year degree in a technical, manufacturing or engineering related field – electrical or controls engineering - is preferred
Two or more years of hands-on experience designing instrumentation and controls, in a systems integration or consulting engineering role
Experience designing water and/or wastewater process control systems strongly preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Experience with ISA standards and recommended practices
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, and MS Access.
Experience designing control cabinets, control logic diagrams, control communication networks, field instrumentation details, and P&ID required
Experience developing user, functional, and software design specifications
Experience developing and executing control system qualification protocols
Experience with one or more of the following control system platforms is strongly preferred: Allen Bradley/Rockwell, GE, Schneider Electric/Modicon
Ability to work independently and to coordinate with team members in other offices
