Responsibilities include design production of transportation projects in accordance with good engineering practice; calculating quantity estimates, developing horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-section development, drainage design, working with digital terrain models, and designing traffic control plans; coordinating and scheduling work to meet project goals on time and budget; coordinate with engineering design staff and other disciplines to meet project objectives.
Bachelors of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering curriculum required.
Engineer-In-Training certification preferred.
Previous transportation experience (including internships) is preferred (Ideal candidate has between 0-4 years of related experience).
Previous work experience with TxDOT projects a plus.
Candidates must be capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team oriented environment.
Ability to write, speak, and communicate clearly in English is a must.
Strong time management and ability to prioritize
Working knowledge of Microstation and Geopak is preferred.
Working knowledge of hydraulics/hydrology design/analysis a plus
Familiarity with the following software a plus:
HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SureTrak, Open Roads (3D) or other 3D modeling software
Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office Software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
