Wilson & Company is seeking a registered professional electrical engineer to provide task and project management on a wide range of projects, and to design construction plans, specifications and studies. Experience with power, lighting, controls and communication systems is needed, along with an understanding of codes and construction issues. Projects will include electrical engineering for industrial facilities with an interesting and diverse mix of municipal and commercial projects such as rail terminal facilities, industrial facilities, water treatment, and transportation facilities. Familiarity with Class 1 Railroad facilities design is desired. A self-motivating personality with good communication skills is desired. We would expect the candidate to be a lead electrical engineer on projects.
Applicants should have an electrical engineering degree and with 8 or more years’ experience with electrical design of facilities, particularly including industrial or oil and gas experience. A broad knowledge of electrical engineering from medium voltage distribution to automation and control design is desired. The candidate should possess an engineering license. Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation is a plus along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use new software.
We are seeking several positions for full-time employment in a variety of locations, including Omaha, NE; Kansas City, MO; and Houston, TX.
This position is for railroad fueling facility design and requires a detailed-oriented Engineer with significant experience in the railroad industry. Technical execution of the engineering to properly size, specify, purchase and install a complete and operating electrical system that meets the Client requirements.
Coordination of communications between the project team, the engineering and design team members to assure quality of work, and that consistent technical content drawing/design packages are maintained throughout a project.
Creation and management of the electrical scope of work for the project.
Sizing of overall electrical system.
Specification, selection and purchase of all Electrical equipment to meet the performance requirements.
Integrate packaged equipment into overall system design.
Develop and maintain labor and material estimates for projects.
Develop and maintain progress, quality control, schedule, staffing planning, and coordination with project management including regular reporting.
Oversee development of detailed design drawings including one line diagrams, plans, details, wiring diagrams and fabrication drawings.
Experience with high mast lighting design, controls and automation experience using both PLCs and relay logic, medium voltage system design experience.
Proficiency in short circuit and arc flash analysis.
8 years minimum of engineering experience in Class I locomotive fueling or industrial facility project detailed design
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable to the Class I railroad facility industry (API, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, NEC/IEC, etc.) required
