The Engineering Manager reports directly to the President and is responsible for leading, managing and supporting the engineering department. The priorities of this position include ensuring that engineering meets the strategic initiatives of the company, including product design, quality assurance including regulatory compliance, departmental efficiency, troubleshooting, and engineering document control. He or she will lead and manage improvements to various existing global product lines, as well as lead and manage new product design and development.
This position will also represent the engineering department in cross functional duties and develop, manage and improve systems and controls to ensure compliance with both industry and internal quality standards. Although this is a top-level role, the position also requires a hands-on approach and “part of the team” spirit.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Leads, manages, develops and supervises the Research and Development, Electrical and Mechanical, and Quality teams •Responsible for realizing annual, short and long-term strategic and operating goals with respect to engineering •Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department •Creates and manages the company’s product roadmap •Responsible for all phases of life cycle management for all products •In charge of all facets of development, hardware, software, testing and validation •Ensures optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development and marketing requirements •Responsible for the creation (if needed), execution and implementation of all processes that require engineering, for example: ECR/ECO, Level 3 Customer Support, New Product Development •Evaluates and makes recommendations on cost control, reliability and manufacturability of products •Manages, protects and expands the Company's patent portfolio and intellectual property base

Prerequisite Skills and Education
•BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline; MS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering •Professional Engineer Certification (PE) preferred •10+ years engineering experience with demonstrated design and manufacturing experience •Experienced in managing cross discipline (for example: EE, ME, CSC, R&D, QA/QC) teams •Demonstrated ability to make positive impact decisions, prioritize and meet or exceed deadlines •Exceptional project management skills •Exceptional analytical and computational skills •Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
