Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized, award-winning professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth, and we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, experienced food & beverage process engineer to join our team. Responsibilities include providing conceptual and preliminary level process designs in support of project activities; supporting final engineering work as it relates to validation of design basis (including mass/heat balances), regulatory compliance, sanitary design, value engineering, equipment design/selection, final equipment layout, and review of external vendors/suppliers; coordinating with Mead & Hunt facility design teams. Travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have all of the following:
a bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, chemical, architectural engineering (with a mechanical emphasis), food science or related degree
at least eight years of relevant food and beverage process experience
a PE license in any statewith the ability to obtain in multiple states
The ideal candidate(s) will have any/all of the following: experience with food and/or beverage project planning; experience coordinating the design and installation of food and/or beverage process systems; experience as an on-site owner representative; knowledge of regulatory standards (including USDA and FDA), sanitary design standards, ergonomic and safety standards, and food quality requirements; project management certification (PMI preferred).
